How to Play Poople: Complete Your First Word Ladder
Poople starts with one four-letter word and gives every puzzle the same destination: POOP. The challenge is to connect them with real words while changing exactly one letter at each step.
Read today’s starting word
The puzzle number and daily start word appear above the board. That first word is already locked in; the blank row beneath it is where the next four-letter word goes.
The destination does not need to be guessed. Every ladder ends at POOP, so the problem is finding a legal route rather than discovering a hidden answer.
Change exactly one letter
Type with the physical keyboard or tap the on-screen keys. A valid row must contain four letters, must be accepted by the game’s dictionary, and must differ from the previous row in exactly one position.
Press Enter to submit. If the row is rejected, compare all four positions with the word above before trying a different spelling.
- Keep three letter positions unchanged on every move.
- Use a recognized four-letter word.
- Change any one of the four positions.
- Use Backspace to correct the current row before submitting.
Continue until the row spells POOP
Each accepted word becomes the new starting point for the next row. Continue one legal step at a time until P-O-O-P appears on the board.
There is value in finishing even when the route feels long. The result explains how many guesses were used and reveals the best solution length, which makes the next puzzle easier to approach.
Read and share the result
After a successful ladder, the result panel compares the number of guesses with the best solution. It also updates wins, average extra guesses, current streak, best streak, and the distribution of extra guesses.
Use Copy results from the success panel to share the outcome. Clipboard permission may need to be allowed by the browser when the game is embedded.
